Using Daviscomms PPS from a non-administrative account under Windows 2000/XP ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- For Windows 2000 and XP user, you should take the following steps in order to use Daviscomms PPS from a non-administrative account: Windows XP ---------- 1. Log on as administrative. 2. Install the PPS e.g. Bravo XYZ PPS.exe 3. Install the "PPS driver for Windows 2000 and XP" (DO NOT launch the PPS after installing this driver). 4. Reboot the system. 5. Log on as a regular user. 6. You should now be able to use the PPS in the same way as when using it from an administrative account. Windows 2000 ------------ 1. Log on as administrative. 2. Install the PPS e.g. Bravo XYZ PPS.exe (if user has no right to install software) 3. Install the "PPS driver for Windows 2000 and XP" (DO NOT launch the PPS after installing this driver). 4. Reboot the system. 5. Log on as a regular user. 6. Install the PPS e.g. Bravo XYZ PPS.exe if it is not done so at step 2. 7. You should now be able to use the PPS in the same way as when using it from an administrative account. IMPORTANT --------- 1. Whenever the PPS driver is re-install, administrator must reboot the system 2. Whenever PPS is launched at administrative account, administrator will need to re-install the PPS driver and reboot again in order for non-administrative user to use the PPS.
